The only way to get rid of acne is to keep your skin super clean. Most of these medicated treatments do not actually clean the skin, but kill the bacteria.





I find that good old plain soap and water work very well. But you need to find soap, not the modern facial toilet detergent in bar form. You need the original soap, now only found in craft markets (home-made soap). This cleans the skin well, but without removing too much of the natural oils you need. The trouble is that soap does not react well with our hard water. It works best with soft water.

either rubbing alcohol or the hydrogen peroxide. I would recommend hydrogen peroxide mixed with equal amount of water. (use only about cap-full is good enough.) Dab a bit using cotton balls. Mainly use it as a form of cleansing the face, kill bacteria. Recommended doing this process after you bathe, or after washing your face just so you can get most of your oily stuff that is produced and excreted through your pores off before you try to kill the bacteria causing the acne.

A good home remedy is keep washing your face with ivory soap (baby) so that your skin will not completely dry out when using alcohol and a cotton ball. Make sure you wipe the acne morning and night.


Keep on doing this. Acne comes from to much oily skin or foods that you eat. If this does not help than see a doctor for proper medication. As acne leaves tiny holes in your skin when you are young.

Well every person's skin is different from another... so far, Proactiv has done the best job for me. I am trying out Murad right now to see if it does a better job... and Acnefree never worked for me, although it has worked for others. Well, it depends on your skin. My brother uses Neutrogena Deep Cleanse. I tried that but it didnt work well. My mom and I use Clinuque. I recommend using this product it works really well.

Vitamin E oil minimizes scars on the skin. It will not completely get rid of scars but decreases the coloration. You can find it at most drug stores.





I don't really know about chemical peels but it sounds Kinda scary! Go natural and reduce the risk of crazy side effects.
I believe what you mean is called Hyperpigmentation. I have been an acne sufferer since I was 10 and have been on Accutane 2x and Birth Control 7x. I've tried just about everything there is to get rid of my acne and I can completely understand anyones frustrations towards pimples.


Pro-Activ was the first topical cream I tried. The first 2 days my pimples looked red and a little worse than before, which was normal. That meant it was working, believe it or not. About a week later my face was mostly clear. I continued using Pro-Activ for about 5 months, but after a while your sking develops a tolerance to the chemicals in the cream, therefore it doesn't work as well and the pimples come back.


Although, the probability of it working is different for everyone because everyone's skin is different.


I suggest trying it out though.

I have your SAME problem, I am 14 with VERY bad acne on my T-Zone. I tryed ProActive and It Did not work. I Went to the Dermitoligist and They Gave me A Perscription Face Wash and Cream to put on my face after washing it. The Cream is Called Differn. Not sure what the face wash is called. hey. um proactive is so worth your money. i use it and it works really well. my advice is to not pop your pimples. just leave them or put acne medicine on them. if you dont like people seeing them, just try wearing a bit of concealer. this way when they go away your face wont have scars on them. about the 2 months in advance, dont order it from the tv, go to the mall or the local drug store. that way. u dont have to pay shipping. i hope this helped!
A cheap alternative to proactive.. PanOxyl..=) And you can just buy an oil free moisturiser so that your skin wont dry out =) It has the same ingredient in it which is benzoyl peroxide ..I don't even know why they charge so much for proactiv =/

I've heard that it doesn't work well, and my cousin used it and it made her acne worse. I've also heard that if you don't use it regularly and miss one day without it, it makes your skin worse. But who knows - everyone has different skin types!
i use proac, because doing landscape, im dirty all day. for me it works sometimes until u get immune to it, meaning like using it twice a day for 2 weeks. Then you will need to take a break, and then use it again. for some reason it doesnt work in succsession

Neutrogena and other very inexpensive over the counter face washes will eventually ruin your skin. The products they use to make them aren't high quality. You should probably buy something that's better quality than Neutrogena.





I used Neutrogena for a while and it never worked for me. I find it's worthwhile to pay a bit more now and the better products have worked.





If you have bad skin problems, ask your doctor to prescribe something like spironolactone. They're pills but really work quickly and well.

If you acne is really bad, you can go to a dermatologist and they put you on a prescription called Accutane, It basically a pill you take everyday over the course of 5-6 months and it dries out the glands under your skin so you don't get acne at all. It gives you very severe chapped lips so keep lots of vaseline on hand. Sometimes you need to do two treatments if the first comes back. For women, its a very hard drug to get on because of the bad birth defects the pills gives, Women must sign a contract, and must answer questions each month to make sure they are not pregnant, you have to take a blood test for pregnancy each month before you can get your months supply of the pills also.





I've been on Accutane twice and its worked wonders. But make sure you take them everyday and don't stop, I stopped halfway threw the first time and thats why I had another treatment.
