Is it true that mouthwash get's rid of acne?

Yes that's right mouthwash, not toothpaste. I read in a magazine that listerine can actually help reduce redness of acne. Is this just another myth or fact?Is it true that mouthwash get's rid of acne?
Its the menthol in the mouthwash, it reduces redness but doesn't get rid of acne!!! Something you may not know about acne is to use mousturiser and not over cleanse, because this produces more sebum (oil) Don't be to hard on yourself acne sux but it will ge better... : )Is it true that mouthwash get's rid of acne?
Listerine has alcohol in it, so that might be what would help (I've never tried it myself). If that's the active ingredient, though, it seems to me it would be a lot simpler just to use a solution of alcohol and water, and forget the minty smell ;-)
Yes, that's very likely (although I haven't tried it myself). Mouthwash contains a phenol-based antiseptic; that would kill germs that cause acne. It might cause a temporary irritation on your skin, making it redder and smart for a while, but this will pass. It wouldn't do much harm if used externally.





This phenol-based antiseptic, incidentally, is very similar to that in Lysol/Dettol (common disinfectants for the floors in hospitals or bathrooms). And that is why I don't use mouthwash!

GOSH NO ! never try such method ! it'll worsen your problem ! use a proper pimple cream. the alcohol in mouthwash is different from the alcohol used in pimple cream.
I wouldnt suggest using it, have you ever heard of any professionals saying it works? People come up with mostly anything these days to help beutify themselves of others, for example putting lemon juice and honey in hair..... If you have acne I would suggest to use a Neutrogena cleanser with the beads and if that may not work try using a more powerful product like Proactiv. Just remember, dont believe EVERYTHING people say. Hope this helps.!

It doesn't help acne at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is a 2/20 chances of it happening it can happen but i seriously dout it
